Denture Reline
Surely you’ve ever heard of it and I have wondered what the relining dentures. The overrun is a complete renovation of the base of the denture or prosthesis, but keeping the same teeth. The objective is to improve exceeded stability and lack of retention of dentures, which has worsened over time.
The overrun is therefore a method used to set the denture base to those tissues in which it rests. Is done by use of a material which will form part of the base.
Most of the new prosthesis is well preserved in the mouth after placement because the internal denture base conforms to the shape of your gums. However, with the passage of time, the gums tend to change shape, especially as you get older. Because of this effect, it will dentures desajustanto gradually.
When this occurs, it is recommended to go to the dentist to proceed to exceed the teeth. The recommended period is every two years. Passing the denture may help maintain the same retention and protect the gum tissue, since it stays soft. There are three types of denture relines: Contract, Soft and Hard.
Soft Reline
Some patients may develop sore gums and find that the use of dentures becomes intensely painful. In addition to the pain points, sensitive areas can be developed in which the prosthesis cannot be exceeded with conventional materials. In such cases the denture can be relined using a soft tissue that is slightly flexible and lasts for a couple of years before needing to be replaced material. Depending on what type of material is used, the consistency may vary. The hard rubber prevent sore spots appear as it is gentle on the gums. However, as many patients seek help only when they have difficulties, sometimes this can mean that their problems have gone beyond the point of pain and sensitive gums and may be resolved otherwise necesicen such as implant Dental.
Hard Reline
Most dentists recommend this type of overflow. Should be performed on the complete set of the prosthesis and at least every two years. In this procedure, the dentist takes the inside of the dentures and then the dentures refilled with a filler that is formed around the edge of the gums before hardening. Thus, in the teeth of an impression and keep gums when he sent to a lab, this print can be replaced with hard acrylic. Once the prosthesis is similar again to the contours of the mouth by the suction capacity and retention of the dentures is recovered.
Overshoot time
In many cases when a patient presents at the dentist to pass your prosthesis, it is in a poor condition due to lack of maintenance. This can cause serious problems, including swelling and deformation of the gums.
In cases like this, you cannot make a denture reline or building a new one because you cannot do impressions of the gums (due to problems with them). In these situations, many dentists choose to use a medicated relining material that will help the swelling go down. This new coating must make the denture fit and well, but only last a few months; this should be enough for the gums back to normal and ready for a new denture time.
Denture Care
Most dentists recommend that teeth cannot use all day and have at least an hour or two of rest to allow the gums to fully recover. When dentures are used consistently, it can cause the gums bone support is lost and quickly replaced by flaccid tissue is very soft and cause problems for denture wearers. It will also be necessary to thoroughly clean dentures at least once a day to prevent halitosis. It is important to maintain a good level of oral hygiene, leaving soaking dentures overnight in a denture cleaner. It is commonly recommended that dentures with a soft brush and a little detergent instead of toothpaste brush.
